How Career Inflection Point works

Career Inflection Point is a six-session, high-touch coaching and career-strategy engagement designed to help you prepare for your job search with confidence, precision, and momentum.

You'll choose a primary coach who will lead your career narrative work and oversee your progress across all six sessions.

Your coach may also bring in other coaches, including those with recruitment and hiring experience, when additional skill-building or market perspective is needed.

Session duration is one hour and timing is tailored to your goals and availability.

    Facilitated working sessions where your primary coach helps you examine your experience role-by-role to define strengths, impact, leadership values, and scope. Together, you shape the narrative bridge between where you’ve been and where you’re headed.

  • Resume & LinkedIn positioning

    Shape an industry-ready resume and optimize your LinkedIn presence. Receive detailed feedback on structure, content, and keywords so your profile gets found and considered by recruiters.

  • Portfolio review

    Refine your portfolio website or interview presentation. You’ll choose representative work and define clear narratives and outcomes that support your narrative. We’ll review what you have so far and provide clear feedback based on your ultimate goals.

  • Job mapping & activation

    Build a targeted job map of companies, roles, and outreach strategies. Identify warm connections and plan informational conversations to seed referrals and opportunities.

  • Mock interview

    Prepare for your next step with a mock interview session of your choice: portfolio presentation, critique, design challenge, or behavioral. The coach will cover typical questions and give you clear, actionable feedback.

    All coaching is confidential and never shared without your explicit consent. We store your materials securely, and sessions can be recorded for your personal review.

  • No. Career Inflection Point is a coaching engagement, not a placement service. While the coaching is grounded in real hiring standards and led by people who actively recruit and hire designers, there’s no guarantee of placement or connection to a specific role.

  • Career Inflection Point is designed to create a visible shift. Designers leave with a clear, compelling story about who they are and what they’re ready for, plus the ability to communicate that story with confidence in portfolios, interviews, and senior-level conversations.

    We’ve designed this package as a real “turning point” for design careers.

  • Career Inflection Point combines senior design career coaching with recruiter-grade insight in a single engagement. Coaching is led by people who actively hire and manage designers, which means feedback reflects how decisions are actually made.

  • Yes. Six sessions is intentionally designed to be enough time to create real movement during a transition. Designers typically see substantial improvement across narrative, materials, and interview readiness within the engagement.

  • No. Many designers begin Career Inflection Point feeling uncertain or conflicted about their next step. Part of the engagement is helping you clarify direction and priorities, then translating that clarity into concrete action.

  • Sessions are scheduled directly with your coach at times that work for both of you. Scheduling is flexible and designed to fit around your existing commitments.
