VR Product Designer with FitXR, Remote, UK or Spain

FitXR is a fitness technology company working at the cutting edge of VR and MR, building a movement for movement.

We started life in 2016 in a garden shed in the UK. Today, we’re building FitXR, one of the top-downloaded apps on the Meta Quest store. We’ve raised close to $30m from top investors such as Maveron, Hiro, and BoostVC.

We've built a growing range of fitness studios, from box workouts with world-class trainers like Olympian Nicola Adams to immersive Zumba dance classes. While nothing compares to trying it yourself, you can watch a trailer here.

Our team is distributed across Europe and the US. We’re guided by our Principles of Play: four core beliefs about how we treat each other and our community. We make space for every voice, believe in the importance of a learner’s mindset, and prioritize team success over individual glory.

FitXR is available on Meta Quest 2 & 3 and has been downloaded by over a million people worldwide and featured in Forbes, Empire, T3, Washington Post, Men's Health, GQ and more. In 2022, FitXR ranked 6th in The Information’s 50 Most Promising Startups.

TLDR

We are on the hunt for a talented Senior Product Designer with strong visual skills to enhance our product's user experience. This pivotal role involves spending 50% of your time designing visually appealing user flows and the other 50% organising and developing a comprehensive design library. Your work will directly contribute to the continuous improvement and innovation of our product offerings.

What you’ll find here

  • A highly collaborative team of multi-disciplinary specialists, who manage a huge range of experimental and high-impact product initiatives - your thoughts, challenges and ideas are actively encouraged!

  • An ambitious but ambiguous environment - we’re here to build a category-defining product that radically changes how people experience fitness. This means there is no defined path for us to follow: we’re breaking new ground every day and learning as we do. You’ll thrive here if you’re as passionate as us about changing people’s lives for the better while being comfortable navigating ambiguity and creating your own certainty in the uncertain

  • A culture built on delivering greatness, iterating, sharing feedback and trying new things - we want you to take bold bets focused on driving value to our customers, and tell us what you learn if it doesn’t work!

  • A highly invested senior leadership team who believe our people are what will take our business to the next level - they are your teammates, cheerleaders, coaches, support team - working beside you as we build the #1 immersive fitness app in the world

  • Strong foundations, but an openness to work your way - we have a high quality bar when it comes to delivery, but teams have the freedom to self-organise how they achieve this

  • An excellent benefits package - see below

Where you’ll spend your time

  • Creating aesthetically pleasing and functionally sound design flows that captivate and engage users

  • Developing and maintaining a structured design library to streamline our design processes and boost efficiency across teams

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure designs are aligned with business goals and user needs

  • Utilising your animation and prototyping skills to bring interactions to life, enhancing the overall user experience

We’d love to see from you

  • We're looking for someone with a strong portfolio that demonstrates your ability to create clean, attractive, and engaging designs that enhance user experience

  • You have experience working on VR projects

  • You thrive in a startup environment where the pace is fast and the expectations are high

  • While we're tool agnostic, we primarily use Figma for our design needs. Proficiency in Figma, as well as experience with animation and prototyping tools like After Effects and Bezi, is highly desirable

  • AI Integration: If you incorporate AI tools into your design process, that's a significant plus. We value efficiency and are always looking to improve our workflows with innovative technology

  • You have excellent organisational skills with a proven track record in developing design systems and libraries

  • You are adept at managing multiple projects simultaneously, demonstrating strong prioritization and time management skills to meet deadlines without compromising on quality

Our mission is to make fitness fun and accessible for everyone. To build inclusive products, we need to build an inclusive team. Please know that this list is indicative and that we would still love to hear from you even if you feel you are only a 75% match. Skills can be learned, but diversity cannot. We promote a diverse and inclusive culture at FitXR.
