The opportunity

This is a chance to join a well-established, growth-stage private technology company with a product-led culture. The design team builds tools and experiences that deliver clear user value, measurable impact, and long-term engagement.

They’re looking for a strategic, hands-on Product Design Manager to raise design quality and performance within a core product area that sits horizontally across the product suite. You’ll report into an experienced, empathetic design leader with a background in scaling design within global product organisations, and you’ll partner closely with cross-functional teams to simplify complexity, improve workflows, and deliver smooth, coherent experiences for both users and internal teams.

What you’ll do

  • Define UX vision and priorities across a substantial product group, aligning teams around user-centred goals and measurable outcomes.

  • Lead by example through discovery, prototyping, and clear directional support to unblock and enable teams.

  • Manage and develop a small, high-impact team of product designers, strengthening craft, decision-making, and delivery quality.

  • Establish and embed effective critique and quality practices to raise the design bar across your area.

  • Create scalable systems and patterns that improve consistency, reduce manual effort, and support sustainable growth.

  • Collaborate closely with product, engineering, data, and other partners to shape direction and execution.

  • Champion experimentation, testing, and optimisation to drive continuous improvement.

  • Help mature design operations through stronger planning, workflow, and team rituals.

About you

  • Proven experience managing and developing product designers in fast-moving environments.

  • Strong UX craft with a portfolio demonstrating impact in real products.

  • Comfortable balancing hands-on contribution with strategic leadership.

  • Collaborative and thoughtful in building strong cross-functional partnerships.

  • Experienced in applying experimentation or growth-focused design approaches.

  • Skilled in coaching designers to improve craft, confidence and output.

  • Fluent in Figma, with strong prototyping and communication skills.

  • Experience designing for both consumer-facing and organisational contexts.

Bonus points

  • Demonstrated curiosity through personal projects or exploration of emerging tools and technologies.

  • Motion and/or video experience is very relevant to the product.

Benefits

  • Generous annual leave

  • Private medical cover

  • Life insurance
