About the role
We are in search of an exceptional Staff Product Manager to lead our strategic initiatives in harnessing the power of content APIs and ensuring our platform remains at the forefront of content management solutions. This role is at the heart of our income department, crucial for syncing data into our ecosystem through a comprehensive spectrum of APIs. You will be tasked with understanding and leveraging our commercial dynamics to maximize revenue while simplifying access to our resources, effectively eliminating the need for traditional solutions.
This position requires a commercially minded individual with a strong technical foundation, particularly in GraphQL and system architecture, and a profound product mindset. Your challenge will be to conceptualize, package, and market our offerings in ways that elevate perceived value for our e-commerce customers, possibly through innovations like high-frequency CDN solutions or an e-commerce accelerator. The role demands a unique blend of technical prowess, market insight, and a deep empathy for both developers and clients.
What You Will Be Doing
Strategizing and Visioning: Crafting the roadmap and strategy for our platform, focusing on high performance, scalability, and seamless integration capabilities for e-commerce customers.
Innovation and Product Development: Developing and naming new packages and solutions that enhance the perceived value of our offerings, employing technologies and approaches such as high-frequency CDNs or e-commerce accelerators.
Architecture and Integration: Playing a critical role in the architectural design and integration of our system, ensuring it supports a wide range of APIs and meets the diverse needs of our clients.
Empathy and Advocacy: Acting as the go-between for engineering teams and customers, you will use your deep empathy for user experience to advocate for integration needs and everyday development challenges at large companies.
Simplification and Clarification: Bringing clarity and simplicity to complex systems, taking the burden off the team by being authoritative, clear, and intuitive in your communication and decision-making.
This may be you
Experienced and Knowledgeable: You have a proven track record as a product manager, ideally with experience in building or working with content management systems, data-oriented products, and developer frameworks.
Technically Adept: With a strong understanding of GraphQL, API architecture, and product development from a technical perspective, you are comfortable navigating the complexities of building systems for content management.
Customer-Centric and Empathetic: You place client empathy at the forefront of your work, understanding the challenges and needs of developers and large enterprises, and you excel at translating these insights into actionable product features.
Strategic and Insightful: You are capable of seeing the bigger picture, making strategic decisions that balance immediate needs with long-term vision, especially in the context of building a 'GitHub for content'.
Communicator and Leader: With exceptional communication skills and a clear, authoritative approach, you can bring clarity to complex situations, advocate for user needs, and lead teams towards innovative solutions.
You are driven not just by the goal of never breaking anything but by the ambition to move forward innovatively, ensuring that additions are purely beneficial and do not require clients to redo existing work. Your role is pivotal in building support for markets, enhancing localization support, and ensuring our content management system supports visually rich content across multiple languages, all while maintaining a seamless user experience and meeting computational challenges.
