Our client is a financial technology company specialising in international payments, collections, and foreign exchange services. The company focuses on providing tailored financial solutions for SMEs and mid-cap companies. They offer foreign exchange activity in over 130 currencies — for both major and emerging markets — as well as cash management strategies, trade finance, and foreign exchange risk management.

Role Overview

We’re looking for a highly experienced Principal Product Designer with a proven track record of crafting exceptional user experiences. Using your design expertise, you will swiftly and collaboratively bring innovative ideas from inception to execution.

As an individual contributor, you will spearhead initiatives within one of our core teams, enjoying autonomy and ownership while making a significant impact across the entire product suite.

You'll evolve our design process, own entire projects, and contribute to the development of a diverse team that champions our users' voices and ships incredible experiences. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to shape the future of our product suite, contribute to team growth, and directly influence the user experience for our customers.

Responsibilities

  • Spearhead design and user experience for crucial product areas, overseeing the entire process from prioritisation to launch.

  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering leads to translate strategy into actionable roadmap initiatives, identifying and solving high-impact problems.

  • Solve complex, ambiguous problems with strategic prioritisation, aligning cross-functional teams around key objectives.

  • Craft intuitive solutions for complex tasks, emphasising simplicity and attention to detail in interconnected projects.

  • Leverage customer insights to drive innovation, creating prototypes and analysing user feedback to continuously improve product experiences.

  • Contribute to long-term product vision development and participate in team rituals such as design critiques and stand-ups.

About you

  • 10+ years of relevant professional experience within UX or Product Design.

  • A portfolio demonstrating exceptional craft and product intuition, with comprehensive expertise in layout, typography, hierarchy, motion, and interaction design.

  • Experience as an influential design leader who ships impactful, strategic work.

  • Strong design point of view and understanding of how to balance customer needs with business needs.

  • Proven leadership and collaboration skills across design, product, and engineering disciplines.

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to navigate ambiguity and communicate effectively across diverse stakeholders.

  • Ability to balance and prioritise multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
